My day-to-day makeup look is pretty much the same, especially through the working week. I tend to mix up my eyeshadow shades and my lipstick on occassion but my base and powder is normally pretty similar on a daily basis. I wanted to mix this up a bit and so have recently been trying a couple of other different products and have found some that I really, really like so I thought I would share my thoughts on them…
Now I was a little sceptical about this one as I wasn’t sure about the whole cushion application thing but considering my love for L’oreal foundations I thought I would give it a go. Don’t judge a book by its cover and all that! The formula of this foundation is really nice and gives an incredibly dewy finish. I would it’s a light to medium coverage and is perfect for when you want a little something something on your skin but you don’t want to feel like you are caked in makeup. There are a couple of different shades but annoyingly it doesn’t seem to state the actual shade on the packing which is annoying (unless I’m being a total idiot). I have to admit I don’t like the cushion applicator that is included and instead opt for my trusty RT blender but this still does a really good job.
I’ll admit, the only reason I picked this up is because Helen Anderson absolutely raves about it on YouTube. Powder foundations aren’t something I tend to use very often as I find they can be quite drying on the skin. However, this really isn’t that drying. It gives a really soft and smooth finish on the skin and comes in a variety of colours. My only gripe with this is that the brush that comes with it is bloody awful. It’s so dense and harsh on the skin. I tend to pour some of the powder into a dish and use a big fluffy brush for application instead.
This is now one of my absolute favourite bronzers of all time! I seem to now be struggling to locate it online so I hope they haven’t discontinued it! It’s such an effortless product to get a lovely all over bronzey glow. It’s so easy to apply and is a lovely bronze shade without being too over the top. It isn’t shimmery or fake looking, it just gives a really nice natural glow.
Well for a start, this is a £6.00 foundation, can I get a hell’yeah? I have mentioned my love for NYX products before and this foundation certainly doesn’t disappoint. The packaging is slightly different to other foundations I use but I actually quite like it and as it’s not in a glass bottle it will be easier to get the remaining product out when I start running low. I went for the shade ‘Natural’ which in hindsight may not be the best match as it looks surprisingly quite orange toned when you start applying it but when you apply it all over your face its not too noticeable. I will pick a different shade next time but the overall formula is really good and I would say is a medium coverage. I’ve worn this for 7-8 hours at a time and it still doesn’t budge – highly recommended.
I’ve been intrigued by the Soap and Glory skincare for a while now and I read great things about this particular mask at From Roses so I had to test it out for myself! Now it’s a really weird sensation when the mask starts to heat up but it doesn’t half give you a really good deep clean! You have to dab it on your face and then wet your hands and start massaging it into your skin. It then starts to heat up and you wash it over after 5 minutes or so. I really liked this mask and you get plenty in the tube for your money. I am definitely interested in trying out other Soap and Glory skincare if this product is anything to go by!
No 7 isn’t a brand that I normally use but as my Mum seems to get loads of gift sets and freebies, I normally receive the hand me downs of the products that she wouldn’t normally use. Amongst them was the eyeshadows in the colours Wheatsheaf and Starry Lights. They both have a really silky soft finish and are super blendable. I don’t tend to buy single shadows but these two shades are nice to play around with and I will use them from time to time in my daily makeup routine.
