So this month has been a great month for some new beauty discoveries, mainly thanks to all the goodies I received over Christmas! Now many of these products I’m sure you are familiar with and hopefully you love them as much as I do but for those who may not have heard of them before, then here are my January favourites…
Now Makeup Revolution is a great budget brand which is stocked in most Superdrug stores. I discovered this little gem in their beauty advent calendar and it is a baked blush in the shade Hard Day. It is a really feminine pale pink shade packed full of shimmer. Shimmer blushes are sometimes a little mehhh and they can be a little over the top but this blush is a really lovely formula, so easy to apply and on the skin it leaves a lovely glow on the top of your cheeks and isn’t as garish as it may look in the packaging. It makes you look like you a have a nice healthy glow and I would definitely recommend giving the brand a try.
I am so late jumping on this bandwagon but I just had to mention this mascara. I had heard rave reviews about this product in the beauty community but I have never really been wowed by a mascara before and so its not a product I normally invest my money in. This, however, is a game changer. I have worn this product every single day since I received it. It really delivers on its promise of making your lashes look longer and fuller. It’s a product that is not too over the top and can be worn on a daily basis whilst still giving you that va-va-voom on your lashes. I love it.
Sadly you cannot buy this particular quad in store as it was an exclusive to the Look Fantastic beauty calendar, hence the name. This is such a beautiful little palette and I was thrilled to see it in my beauty calendar. You get a really lovely mix of shades, there is a pale base colour in the form of ‘Servant’, a lovely berry shimmer shade called ‘Tango’ and also two deeper colours called ‘Terra’ and ‘Vernau’. This is a perfect palette for travelling and I also can’t wait to use this during Autumn as they are the perfect colours for this season.
Again I am so late to the party on this one. This product has been on the top of my wishlist for months and months but I just couldn’t justify spending so much on an eyeliner when my Supercat from Soap and Glory was serving me so well. I was very happy to receive this at Christmas and I have to admit, it really does live up to the hype. The applicator is really nice and not too harsh on the skin, it comes through as a deep black colour and applies really flawlessly, even with my bumbling hands. It applies the perfect cat eye almost effortlessly and it is definitely my new favourite liner, sorry Soap and Glory!
I’m a sucker for a nude/brown lip product and so this was right up my street! I really love the sponge applicator and it’s such a handy little product to have in your bag on the go. Now the colour isn’t the longest lasting but the shade is so pretty and so wearable every day. It also smells of chocolate, which is a nice little touch. Its almost a cross between a lipstick and a gloss, its really nourishing on the lips but isn’t sticky like a normal gloss. I would love to try some other colours as I think they are onto a winner with this formula.
