For anyone who has read my blog before, you will know that I am a huge fan of L’oreal foundations! I have previously tried and loved their True Match foundation and also their Infallible foundation, in both the longwear and matte finish. I recently heard about their new total cover foundation and I just knew I had to have it! So how did I find it?
Well, first things first, this product is very high coverage. This is something I always look for in a foundation as I suffer with acne prone skin and I love to have a high coverage foundation that I can rely on to last throughout the day and cover all my blemishes. Having tried previous L’oreal foundations I knew that they wouldn’t disappoint on this element as the Infallible and True Match range both have really great coverage as well.
The infallible range always claimed a 24 hour long lasting coverage and whilst this foundation doesn’t make such a bold claim, the product is incredibly long lasting and is completely flawless even after a full 8-9 hours of work. Even after a full day, the coverage is still seamless and my base hasn’t budged – a definite plus. The product is also a matte finish and is more of a thick formula as opposed to the liquid finish of the true match and infallible range. It’s quite a moussey texture but because of the ‘camo stretch technology’ that this product boasts, it applies really easily and has great spreadability. The product sinks into your skin effortlessly and has a nicer finish to the Infallible matte range which can be a little more difficult to spread and apply.
For reference, I picked this up in the shade Natural Rose 12 which is such a perfect colour match for me. It’s a very natural colour for me but because of the great coverage I didn’t feel it necessary to go any darker than my natural skin tone. At the moment I think there are only 6 shades available which is a little disappointing but thankfully I’ve found my perfect match.
This foundation is currently available at most Superdrug and Boots stores and is priced at an incredible £9.99 – that’s another thing I love about L’oreal, they are by far my favourite high street foundation and they are so readily available and affordable!
Have you tried the Total Cover foundation? What were your thoughts?
